Orange & Black Ducting in Datacenters

Modern datacenters more and more relay on uptime and redundancy. Data speed is increasing exponentially. Fiber- and Copper cabling have to adapt to these changing situations.

Quintis has been in the datacenter Fiber Optic Cable Management market from starters on and introduced the Yellow coloured Fiber Optic Ducting made of Noryl® many years ago. In general, Fiber Optic Ducting provides safe cable routing with guaranteed bending radius for the cables inside it. It also responds to the demands of flexibility to expand and change the ducting, even in a live situation with fibers in the ducting. Yellow ducting therefore provides network integrity.

Why Orange Ducting?
Datacenters must meet today's challenging redundancy issues. The yellow coloured ducting therefore needs an additional colour to make redundant pathways visible. Quintis introduces an orange coloured system. It has the same benefits as the yellow ducting that has been in the market for over 10 years. Now you can make redundant pathways and make them visible for every user.

Why Black Ducting?
Parallel to the redundancy needs, a new issue came up:
The state-of-art 10Gigabit copper UTP cabling also has very high demands on bending radii. This implements a new approach to the conventional metal cable trays (ladders, baskets etc). The conventional metal trays are not designed to provide safe bending radius. This is why Quintis introduced the Black Ducting. It has all the benefits of the Fiber Ducting, and if it works for fiber it will work for copper too!
The black colour clearly identifies that the ducting contains copper cabling.

Conclusion
Modern datacenters meeting international regulation must be equipped with a safe, redundant Pathway for both Fiber and Copper cabling. Quintis provides a solution by introducing new Orange and Black colour to the existing range of Noryl® ducting.
